02 fe501 how can i remove the spark arrestor

on road now and no need for any restriction, also like to re pack it if possible. how does this thing come apart? thanks in advance!

although as an old curmudgeon, i disagree with what your intentions are, the clues as to disassembly are rather obvious in the screws located at both ends. i don't have a clue where you are, but i don't think removing the krizman style spark arrestor component will gain you any more power and certainly no friends.
 
my issue was not removing the rivets at both ends but removing the krizman spark arrestor from inside the steel mesh. I met a guy who did this over the weekend and it was no louder than my crf 450 and looked sweet with about 5 inches cut off the back of it. i see where youre coming from but this pipe is RIDICULOUS and huge.. I live in california by the way, are there any aftermarket pipes available here in the states that you know of?

ohhhh, it's a LOOK thing. :roll: then just get the hacksaw and drill out, go to town, and hope arnold's boys don't getcha.
 
I had a Big Gun for sale for a year before selling it. Someone must have fore you.
 
i dont see any of these companys offering pipes for my 501. Do i order it for a different bike? which pipe is the best bang for buck?

you will need to go to a used one as nobody makes a new direct replacement for an older berg like yours. that's where having fabrication skills come in handy.
