'02 650 Sparky Question

Hi all,

I have a 2002 FE 650 that has an exhaust that was "modified" by its previous owner (ie, it is a straight pipe, stock can on the outside but straight through on the inside). For the desert racing series up here in Utah and Nevada a spark arrestor is mandatory. I have a limited budget and I'm thinking the Akra exhaust is a bit too much $ for me. I've seen Big Gun mentioned in my searches here but apparently they don't make an exhaust for Husabergs anymore. I've also seen pictures of an FMF exhaust on a newer 'Berg recently on this site. Basically, what are my options?

Alrighty, I do like my bikes looking clean and I'm not so sure that the PMB option is that clean. I'd be willing to shell out the extra cash for an Akra exhaust if a dealer in the US has one in stock and there is one to fit the '02 650. The '07 Force Depot catalog says that they make a slip on for 2003-2004 and 2005-2007. Would the 2003-2004 one fit properly? Spark arrestor included?

I've read through the majority of the threads in this section (both pages) and have come to the conclusion that "FP" exhaust is the silencer of choice for the majority of people. I cannot find a website, or even a picture, of the details of this exhaust. Maybe one of you guys could help me out with that?

Also, I read that FMF makes an exhaust that will fit the older 'Bergs. Is this true? Which one will fit? What are some other after market options for the older 'Bergs?

And finally, would the headers and midpipe from a newer 'Berg 650 fit on my '02 650? I ask this because there are a lot more options for a muffler for the new 'Bergs and if I could get the newer headers and midpipe it would allow me more options for the bike.

PS,the silencer that is on my bike now is really long (the longest I've ever seen on a dirt bike) and has a carbon fiber end cap. I've run a long piece of wire down the length of it with no resistance so there is no spark arrestor in it. Did this silencer (not modified) come on every bike from this year? Looks like this:
