Hi chaps,

I have one FE550S 2004 and i would like to change the wheels from enduro to supermoto. I'm thininking also to buy a 6 piston Beringer caliper and the floating disk. My question is: Will Beringer work ok on the excisting brake hoses and with the excisting enduro brake pump? will i need any additional part or to change also something else?

The 04 Parts Manual says the FE/FC hand brake cylinder is 12mm and the FS is 13mm. The parts chould fit?

Thats a 17.4 % increase in piston area to compensate for the additional area of the caliper pistons.

Maybe some of the SM riders/conversion guys will have a better answer for you.

regards,

Joe

ive just put a 6 pot berringer on my 02 bike
i was told to get a 13mm master cylinder ktm duke /ducati monster with single front brake and caviga mito?
i tried the standard cylinder and bled up, the lever would come back to the bars
now i have the brembo 13mm one and its fine (off a ktm duke )

I think you will have to up your m/c bore to a minimum of 13mm as already suggested. If you can get hold of the 4 pot caliper, the 12mm is fine, as is the 4-pot. Some riders actually prefered the 4-pot over the 6-pot anyway.

I actually run a Nissin 5/8" m/c (or 15.75mm) on my 4-pot which I prefer compared to the 12 or 13mm.

But then I also run a quick action throttle too, unlike many....

Cheers
Simon

the caliper beringer are designed to function with the maitres cylinder of origin.
