Have just started the engine with new liner and piston.

To have the right grip for this massive power we use a new tire to instal the studs.

Has anyone in Sweden ever tried a set of Marcel Fournier or Charlie Beatiie pro built ice race tires?

I dont think there have been some tires from them shipped over but,
Yes, there was a few riders last winter that had these studs, we call them coldcutters.
The result was thats its on our 3km track approx 3-4sek slower than "Finndubb", what you see on my bike, but faster than the "enduro studs".
We are around 5-7sec faster than enduro studed tires, they slide more and dont have near the same tracktion.

The ones who had coldcutters last winter have changed to "finndubb" for this year.

There is also a few riders that uses hardend spax wood screws, it works very well, specially when there is powder left on the surface. But we try to keep the ice surface as clean as possible.

The studs are only part of the tires performance.Coldcutters are a poor sub for MF44 studs or the profiled and sharpened studs used on the pro tires.
Using only the studs(even MF44) and building the tire yourself gives only a fraction of the traction and control of the pro built tires.
The is alot of work that goes into profiling the tire carcus ,prelining the tire for the correct stiffness,as well as precise stud placement that makes the world of difference.
All things equal,a rider with pro built Fournier tires can lap the best home built with the same studs in 3-5 laps of a 1/4 mile oval.
