10 cent Quick Pull

Have searched through the old posts but have found nothing about this other than to buy a complete throttle. Saw a post somewhere about a R1 rider doing it so I thought I'd give it a go .

Just pull the throttle apart and glue two zip ties one on top of the other around the throttle cam and tada. I trimmed the ends on an angle to allow the cables to ramp up gradually and also adjusted the closing cable out to give it more room. The pull cable was fine.

I wouldn't recomend it for offroad but for the road it is excellent. It has made a big difference to the way the power feels. I know there is no more power but it feels like I've gained 10hp. And you can just cut them off if you don't like it. Oh, you also have to dremmel out the cable guide that is in the housing or it won't fit. You'll see once you have a look. I had mine done for a couple of weeks now and no probs.

If there is any interest and you need pics I'll post some. Do it !!

I used a combination of hacksaw blade and bashing with a screwdriver to get the lug out.. I used the zip ties flat face up but it still has a slight hollow for the cable to go in . Next time (for my road bikes) I will try gluing the tie with the corrugations to the outside so as to make a channel for the cable.

When you're finished go for a ride and if it doesn't turn you on you've got no switches !
