Rekluse Z-start clutch

Hi,

Has someone experiences with these or any other automatic clutches on a Husaberg 601 (or up)? I've a 601 engine installed in a sidecar and I'm especially interested about oil temp and clutch life. Is there still some bite left when opening the throttle?

HMMM husaberg made a 601? or is the 600 actually a 601cc? berger has successfully installed the rekluse on a large bore bike as have a few others. they say they worked well, I will be try the install here shortly as well on a 550. I think that rekluse came out a while back and stated that they are not recommeded on the large bore bikes...

The info I got from the guys at Rekluse was that their clutch was only for the 450. Their clutch does not generate enough clamping force for the more powerful motors, according to them. Revlock makes one that will do the trick, although at 2x the price of the rekluse.

That being said, I think there are a few guys on this site running the Rekluse on the big-bore Husabergs.

I believe EMF(?) makes good auto clutch for the bergs and the price is $500.

I also heard about Rekluse autoclutches installed on 501s as well.

hi stephan and welcome to UHE.

where are you from? pleasde put the model of engine in your signature and where you're from on the left.

i have a rekluse on my 400 and i wouldn't recommend it on your 600. the manual clutch doesn't seem to work that well and lacks feel. to have no clutch cable is out of the question for a sidecar because you need to 'dump the clutch' from slow bends and as i have said, it has no feel and may wear very quickly.

I checked the Rekluse site, www.rekluse.com, and indeed they do not mention the larger Husaberg engines. A reseller advertises them for all models but that doesn't seem to be correct. At KTMTalk I found also a posting mentioning that the Rekluse isn't the best choice for the big engines.
Revloc, www.revloc.com and EFM, www.efmautoclutch.com, are the options for the moment.

Do a search on this, there are a tone of threads.... A Rekluse will not work, period. A REVLOC works, you just need to make sure ALL of the tungsten balls are included in the setup. I was very happy with the customer service from REVLOC. I was working 15 miles outside town on a 1 month job, they brought the clutch out to me. I had a few setup issues but its all good now and I'm very happy with it.
 
According to Garry Buzzelli from EFM Auto Clutch Inc. they do not provide clutches for the Bergs.
 
Looks like Revloc is the best choice. Revloc offers also the possiblity of clutch override what is indeed important for sidecar-cross. I hope my info is visible now. The engine started it's life in '97 but there aren't many parts of that time left anymore, sidecar-cross is demanding.j(':twisted:')

I have almost 8,000 troublefree miles on my current RevLoc equipped '04 KTM 525 (540) EXC. The original clutch is still operating as smoothly as ever and has required zero maintenance. I have also test ridden several Rekluse equipped 525 KTM's which were smooth enough but allowed too much clutch slippage under high torque operation.
