2006 taillight extender fitted to 2005 FE550e

G-day Berg'ers,
my first time online, so am getting used to the whole deal... has anyone fitted the 2006 taillight extender to a previous model, i have the new extender to fit to my mighty FE550e, but would like to know what I am in for before spinnin' the spanners.

are the exploded assembly views available anywhere? I have checked the parts manual that came with the 2005 FE550e but it doesent show the exploded view of the original light... the new assembly consists of lense, extender body and a rubber gromet / globe holder... is it all compatible with whats fitted to the 2005?

Thanks in advance for any advice, also has anyone fitted a Factory R&D lightning pump plate to their Berg' and how appreciable was the difference?

Hi,
Download the 06 parts manual from the Husaberg.se site for an exploded view.
Then you can cross reference parts.
 
I fitted an 06 Tail light (new slimline one looks trick) onto my 05 650.

Very Simple job uses the current bulb and wiring setup. Pull the old and new one apart and you will see how to do it.

Took no longer than 20 mins tops very easy just go and get some stainless steel allen key bolts with nylock bolts (2x each ) and attack it with all your might.

faktor is correct, easy change out for the 06 assembly. Just make sure you have the rubber globe gromet/holder. I was able to use the wiring and bulb socket from my 04 450.
Looks way better than that farming implement that came stock.

I converted my '02 FE501e over to the new style tail light. Looks awesome!!!!

As stated before, it is a very simple upgrade.

Thanks everyone, all advice has been very welcome, can anyone advise if their assembly came with screws / bolts, or did you use existing fastners?

the 06 lense is not thru drilled like the 05, so I doubt if the stock bolts will retro fit.

my Berg dealer is about 1500 kms away, so cant just duck down to the shop for advice or parts... looks like im missing stuff.
