Hello. I'm new. I don't know if I'm writing in the right section, but I need help. I have a HUSABERG fc 550 2005. I am doing a complete engine overhaul. I'm at the stage of setting the timing and I don't know how to do it. There are no marks on the top sprocket. Help!!!

There should be two punch marks on the cam sprocket. Something is wrong if they are not there. Hopefully, you have a steel sprocket and not an aluminum one.
You will need the left side cover off to see the three punch marks that must be aligned at the same time. CAM SPROCKET TIMING 1.jpegCRANK TIMING-CAM.jpeg

Mam aluminiową zębatkę. Czy ona jest zła? Nie mam znaków na niej

I have an aluminum sprocket. Is she evil? I have no marks on it. I can't find another one for this model. Does one from KTM fit?

Here is your problem. all three dots are too far to the left. get a ruler and place it beween the centre of the two shafts.

Thanks, Taffey, I was trying to help out the OP and these are the only pictures I had.
He may be running an aluminum sprocket, but I can't tell for sure. Do aluminum sprockets have two punch marks? Did the '05 550 have an aluminum sprocket? Do you have any parts/suggestions for the OP?
By the way, my bike starts instantly so I believe the timing is spot on.

the alloy sprocket has no marks and shouldn't need them. half the steel didn't have the punch marks either.

you're all doing this wrong anyway but why should I push **** uphill.

Take your cam timing off the flywheel and have the lobes upwards. THAT is the correct way. TDC diagram.JPG

I don't trust this aluminum sprocket, but I have no choice because I can't get another one

just bolt it on. the steel sprocket has shorter bolts by 4mm or so but you can cut the older ones shorter.

Gentlemen, I have one more question: does the sprocket number 80036011100 fit the Husaberg 550?
there is such a number in the catalog but there is no description exactly whether it fits 550. the hole in my sprocket is 32 and I found that in 80036011100 there is a hole 30 but maybe it's bad data

I know, but I have one available locally with the number 800360011100. I'm pressed for time, that's why I'm asking

I'd proceed in that case. You can always machine out the center hole 2mm if needed.

Hello. I don't want to start a new topic but I have one question. I'm waiting for the timing gear from Taffy and I decided to replace all the bearings in the engine. I bought non-original shaft bearings from Skf, but they are not in a plastic cage, but in a steel one, is there any difference?
