After my 3rd SEM style stator failure on an fe400 in a year im looking at at a few good ktm 520 exc motors sitting on my bench and the exhaust port exhaust hight is within .9" to tie into berg pipes, it would clear the frame, carb boot is slightly higher on the RFS but should work I'm already running the 39fcr with jd kit for the rfs.
I've got a few early and late RFS LH drive swing arms I can mill down, Swap chain guide rollers to left side, hyd clutch line, rear brake line/claiper, relocate starter solenoid, 1/4" aluminum mounts.....
I see one guy over the pond has done it and used the ktm double header and crossed over in the void under the seat. Looks simpler to tie into berg head pipes though.
Could I tie the RFS stator wires into the SEM style ignition system?
