Hello,
I have a 2004 FSE 650, engine completely rebuilt, all New apart from the big end bearing.
After 2 hours of breaking in I replaced the oil, all good.
After 2 more hours on track I found very small flakes of aluminium on the oil filter.
I checked the timing chain, even if new, still 10mm from the casing, only 3-4 clicks left on the tensioner though..
Checked also the top end, nothing loose and no flakes there, but I saw that at some point that the cam shaft rubbed against the head, but I dont know if it was already there before the rebuild. See picture.
Took the small clutch cover off, did not see anything wrong, I'm trying to avoid removing the full clutch cover, I have no leak so far and it was a pain in the *** to fit without the kickshaft spring going off...
Any others ideas where it could come from?
I have to say that I was running the engine a bit hard during the last half hour, old habits of the 4 cylinders kicked back in and I was running a bir short final drive.
Thanks!
