Fuel consumption on a 650?

Hi guys.

Just wondering how much you guys can go an a full tank of gas? Trail riding is my main curiosity. Mine managed to sip up around 4-5 litres in about 60 kilometres, but to be fair I was riding her like I stole her. I never did try to ride out a full tank so I have no idea how much it lasts. Any info is much appreciated, since next weekend Im going for a long ride, and don't know how does the fuel last.

Cheers, Tom

Woaa, thats depressing :)). Now thats two things the beast eats up quickly: the rear tire and the fuel.

My friend's 650 uses less than 5 liters per 100 km I think? Closer to 4? He rides it pretty relaxed, using the torque more than the power if you can say that. So fortunately, with these fine bikes the consumption can be pretty variable.

Well I ride pretty fast and aggressively so Im not surprised that it consumes alot. Next I will try riding in LO setting and see if that helps consumption.

I just took my FE650e out on the road for 32.6 miles and it took just under a gallon of fuel. Stop lights, stop signs, and 30 to 60 mph speed zones. Not too hard on the throttle.

have a look at this thread. Spencer Butler who has a 2002 650 and comes on UHE has promised me I can play with his bike.

look below at the needles I have been testing all laid out. note that the K51 is easily the richest needle. So far I've done 150 test runs. note the needle I have made is almost off the scale. the reason for that is that I have changed atomiser/atomiser bush style completely.

so plenty to look forwards too!
