1998 FE400 with a Mikuni flat slide carb. What throttle cable do I buy?

it'll have to be one that is on the shelf. send me the total length, the total outer cable length and the size of the nipple on the end at the carb?

Cable length 101 cm including the nipples
Housing length is 84 cm including the threaded ends
Carb side nipple is 5mm by 2.5mm

Attached pictures of each end as well

let me have a photo of the other end as well please..at the nipple? it's nice to see the nipple near the thread in the same photo.

also, are you happy with the nipple shown that goes in the Mikuni because the Mikuni might have wanted another design and we can get it sorted while we are here?

so the throttle housing end will have a barrel nipple probably?

regards

i had a '98 with both the mikuni and dellorto and don't remember having to change cables.

well if true then we have one1 I was just trying to be 100% sure!

The carb nipple seemed very secure when I disassembled it. The throttle side has the typical barrel type end.

taffy, it was the 400 you rode at moab. i think it had the mikuni on it then??

yep and you said it didn't run right then! or was that the other one? hell, I've forgotten! I had a good time on it though!!!

I remember throwing Coronaberg's bike at the scenery on that slick rock. at 6' 8" I doubt he ever dropped it.

So where do I buy a throttle cable? I can't find any websites that list my bike in their OEM parts.

you're welcome, everytime i look at our web shop i see things wrong sir but I only have one pair of hands!

I told my sister who runs a brothel that if i had another pair of hands I could open up another shop in cambridge. she said, if she had another pair of legs she could open up in cambridge too!

LOL!!!!

It's been 10 business days and I haven't gotten it yet. Any way to track it? I replied to the order confirmation email a while back but no reply.

hello

I just looked up my postage records and it was posted on Monday 27th Feb.
Please let me know when you recieve . I would give it a little more time it obviously has gone walkies. International mail isnt classed as lost until 30 days ...which is a bugger. It has been 13 working days if we include today and postage time is 7-10 working days for worldwide post.

Received it in the mail today. Cable length is good but the threads at the handle side are the wrong size. I have the electric start if that makes a difference and led to the wrong part being recommended.

can you give me the number off the front of the package first?

second, tell me whether it fell in or the thread was too big? can't be the pitch so....
there are two basic dell orto throttles. the first has a wheel on top which you can see as a sillhouette on the top and a tapered screw in it. it has an enormous thread and an adjustment wheel.

we will get it right.

so you have electric start 400 and I think you've said the year somewhere right?
