thought i read somewhere that the 2011 570 has a catalytic converter in the head pipe? if so that would definitely warrant a modification or a fmf megabomb?

Never seen anything that looks like catalytic converter. So no there isn't one. But stock pipe is restrictive. Take all screws off end of muffler and with a rubber mallet nock off the end (lot of work) you'll see a step down pipe about 55mm long cut it off. Reinstall or buy aftermarket muffler.

Agree, it is strange. You do buy them road legal in california, dont you? No need to convert it to road?
