Just bought a 2009 fe570. Bike ran good when I bought it. When I got it home it would start good intermittently. After reading up on the fuel pump problems I figured that was what it might be, even though the pump was running fine. Checked fuel pressure and it was below 10 psi and often zero. Was about to start pulling tank but decided to pull out the regulator at the top first.
Hit starter and fuel was just pouring out of the regulator. Removed regulator and you could blow through it both directions easily. Hooked gauge to pump output line and the pump easily reach 40 psi where i shut it off so as to not over pressure anything.
Cut old regulator apart and the diaphragm was pretty much in pieces. What would cause this on a bike with 74 hours?
CA Cycles sells the regulator for just under 50 dollars. Has anyone found a cheaper place to get them?
