Was going to get a Ducati Sport 1000 with Zard pipes. That's the one I fell in love with first. I don't have one - but I will someday. One like this:

Ducati_Sport1000-2.jpg

Then I didn't consider offroad capable bikes until by chance I read about the DR-Z being a good beginners bike. So I got a '07 Suzuki DR-Z400S last year. Love it to bits!

Then somewhere along the way I found Husaberg. I'm not sure how or why. I remember only 2-3 years ago I thought Husaberg enduro bikes were something scary and unreliable and you had to know the black art of the kickstarter. I think I found the 70-degree bikes by chance when I was reading up on an older 450 'Berg that a friend told me he bought.

Bit by bit, it was revealed to me what off-road riding is really about. And what's good about the DR-Z and what's not. And you wonder "hmm what if a bike was like this ... and had that ... but was lighter ... and had a modern engine ... and had good suspension ... and could tackle anything off-road ... and you can still strap the necessary luggage to it and travel on it? ... and looked sexy and scary at the same time?"

And now I have an FE 570!

No good pictures of it yet - need to ride it more. Urgently.

Not counting the road bikes.....

'81 DT250MX

'85 TY250 (twin shock)

'87 TY250R

'86 TSX250

'02 XR650RY (Stolen by some thieving scumbag)

'10 FE570

Grew up riding my dads old Bultacos, he collects them. I also had a Honda Trail 90 somewhere along the line. When I was in high school I bought a blown up 87 XR600 and fixed it myself, then bought a 97 KX250. Friend of mine let me ride his 01 FC550 and I bought it off him. I kept it for a long time but also picked up an 02 KTM 520 that I still have and most recently added an FE570. It replaced the KTM as my all time favorite bike. If I won the lottery tomorrow and could buy any bike I wanted, Id choose another 570!

Just my dirt bikes which I came to late in my riding career, in order of acquisition.
Gone:
DT175
IT250
IT175
IT490
And still in the shed:
FE501
FE650
DR650
SY250R
XT1200Z

Of all the bikes I've ridden, owned and still own, the FE650 is the one that gets my adrenaline flowing like no other.

1976 or before mini bike
Brand new 1977 Yamaha YZ80
1978 Suzuki RM125
1982 Honda CB650

2005 Honda CRF450R
2007 Honda CRF450R

Started with a beat up Suzuki GSX750ES -83
Then came a beautiful Suzuki Tl1000s -97, the bike of my dreams. I loved it.
Studies at the university forced me to sell the TL but a newly found friend had an FE600 -99 and one drinking night he promised me a loan if I bought a Berg. The next day I took him up on the offer and bought an FE650 -01.
Being born and raised some 3-4km from the factory in Sweden I had both family and friends working there so it felt right in more than one way.
After that came a bunch more after I finished my studies...
I think they are in the right chronological order of purchase.
FS650 -03, bought new
FS650 -04
Yamaha R6 -99
FS650 -05, bought new
