No more FS?

i want a 450 now after racing the big 570.. it's a shame the 450 fx is a bit soft compared to a stock 450SX motor. how does that thing handle? mine is too high in the front end. 60mm higher than a ktm smr to be exact! loving the devtech too. I've been shortening mine a fair bit and will still go more as they are a bit too long.

what offset clamps are they? also, can you measure from center of front axle to underside of lower clamp when bike is off the ground. interested to see your front height.

She's a beauty! Wanna sell me your offroad suspension??

I need it for when it's not in SM trim, desperate for another shock so I can have one set up for SM and one for trail riding. The FX is too tall and firm for me.

Yep, it's a bit gutless to be honest, no where near as quick as my old twin cam KTM SMR but it's good enough for a dual purpose bike. I'm looking at a 520 kit for it though. Handling is pretty good to say its an offroad shock with a bit more preload and the clickers wound in. the clamps are 11-14mm offset and I have them on 14, I think the front height will be pretty similar, I'll get the ruler out and let you know.

64 cm, Pedro.

You do know the 08 > 10 KTM SMR headstock is longer than the other KTMs/ Bergs don't you?

Apologizes for highjacking this thread, but I have a "quick" question that I think you part time street guys might be able to help with.

I recently posted a thread with some clutch issues I'm having:

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=14799&p=122801#p122801

Two questions:

Are any of you SM guys having any clutch slipping issues? Like when rolling on the throttle hard in 4th-6th gears?
and
What oil are you running? ( I know, I know... Ya can :hang: me later....)

Thank you!

Brandon

Yes, I knew it wasn't the same, I know I need to drop down 25mm in the front but was surprised to see the SMR forks over 60mm different. interesting as the specs also states the head angle the same for both SMR and berg. anyway, clamps are getting made so will be able to test out soon..
