Thinking about ceramic coating the header pipe to reduce the amount of heat it through off under the seat. Is it easy to remove the pipe? Is there any posting which describes the removal of the pipe?

thanks

[attachment=0:2h9ffyqg]GUARD ON BIKE small file.jpg[/attachment:2h9ffyqg] For the header pipe I have a cool heat shield. Made from Aircraft grade exhaust resins it will take the heat, mounts nicely with all hardware included, no welding required. I have some extras [email protected]

I've just had my exhaust off to wrap it.

This applies to the '09 - '11 FE models.

1. Remove the tank.
2. Remove the rear shock and rear silencer.
3. Service manual says remove throttle body and hang to one side but I didn't do this and removed the 3 bolts holding the rear mudguard/subframe instead and moved it back slightly.
4. Disconnect Lambda sensor wiring plug from the loom.
5. Remove exhaust mounting bolt from rear engine mount bracket.
6. Loosen band clamp holding both exhaust halves together.
7. Remove exhaust manifold/cyl head bolts.
8. Remove rear engine mount bolt from mount then remove mount itself (2 bolts) and manouver the exhaust out.
