whew! had to take a break from things mechanical and spend some time sitting down (my walker is getting worn out).
to sum up some of the probs with the 650, most of it can be leveled at the carb. came with an aftermarket fcr that has its ap linkage external to the carb. never saw one like it...
I'm quite certain that my previous posts about my EFM autoclutch have bored you to the max! After many rides I can tell you that it has performed flawlessly and even better than I had expected. No adjustments to spring or balls or shims has been required. It disengages completely to...
My apologies to those attempting to contact me these past few weeks. I still have a ways to go and will be difficult (@ best) to reach for a few additional weeks. Email is ones best bet for making contact as I am rarely near a phone during daylight hours.
If you would like to purchase a jet...
Ok to those of you who still remember the 2000 era bikes, I have a few questions about engine upgrades. I was considering selling my -berg a 2000 fc501 but since then I have had second thoughts, so since I am keeping it what are the best upgrades to perform? So far in the “owner’s...
Hello All,
Some of you may remember that some time ago I embarked on a little project to design and build my own exhaust system. I've had some other things on my plate preventing me from spending much time on this which is why it has taken so long and progress is so slow. However, when I...
Here is an update following on from Taffy's latest recommendations made here.

Below is a list of what I have now. Its taken me a few weeks because since Taff's encouragement I've had to work and stuff, but I found some time last...
So far so good. With proper maintenance it seems like the 04 and newer motors are very reliable. :) I hope I didn't just jinx myself.

Update on my 06 Fe450e:
64 hours now, 990 miles. Bought the bike in Feb 06. Checked the valves clearances today. The valve tappet clearances have not moved from the 0.004" I set them at back at 20 hours. I'm a weekend trail rider and probably don't ride very high in the rpms, but I do...
I'm going to open up my engine and replace some important parts.
The rockerarms is going to be replaced with -03.
Now I have some questions I need answered before I can order the parts:
Is it important to replace the bearing that holds the counterbalance to -02 and which parts do I need for...
mechanic phoned a few days ago to say that my head gasket was fine and the emulsified oil was caused from o ring near water pump had got out of place BUT the more concernign part of the conversation was this....... There was soo much f#!$'n silicone used to put the bike back together when the...
Okay, freakbergers, I put the pshb carb back on my 96 fe600 becouse no stinkin' carburetor has ever whipped my butt! I cured the loading up\flooding problem as I discovered that the idle air bleed to the pilot jet was restricted. Among you who offered advice or ridicule, Taffy wrote,"those flat...
Well my fellow Husabergers, I have an update to one of my previous posts. Last week I finally made a decision on a new bike for the lady and made the purchase. I picked up a brand new off the show room floor 2005 Honda CRF150F for the wife after much investigating and thought from you guys on...
For those who are interested and might be keeping a mental track of my attempts at working the bugs out of my 97 FE600E, here is some new stuff. Just look at it as a soap opera about Husaberg. I rode a great ride last Friday at Wayne National Forest here in Ohio and the bike ran and started...
Second day rode from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm after leaving
a pig-roast which was great headed back on the trails about three-
tenths of a mile it started ticking real bad decided to turn around
and get off the single track goat paths and it happened the engine
locked up well I pushed it over the...
I reported earlier that what I expected to be failed rocker arm rollers making an odd top-end noise turned out to be a shredded water pump impeller. I've finally had a chance to look a little more closely and what I'm seeing is perplexing.
The remains of the impeller, new about 100hours...
:D thought all bergs needed a special fill spout to get oil into them,
but while getting one ready to go today i noticed they have relocated
filler so you could use a gallon jug to fill with nice
!! BIG IMPROVEMENT !!
Finally got a chance to pull the rocker cover last night to inspect the failure. What I found was a bit of a surprise. The rockers are in excellent condition with no detectable wear. The noise that I assumed was one or more failed rollers turns out to be a water pump impeller that I took out...
i have been in correspondence with UHE member 'kickaberg2' who has given me this info about the stirrup in the camchain tensioner mechanism being updated from the 2003 model on.
apparently it's altogether a better fit and the altered shape is more sympathetic to the run of the chain...
