Hey i just bought a dirt tricks camchain tensioner and i need some advice how to install it.
Does it require a special tool?
Does it matter when i remove the old tensioner, do i have to lock the engine or something?
And i suppose i have to lay the bike down and install it collapsed like it said...
Recently purchased a 2010 FE 390 and first job was to replace the cam chain and tensioner as previous owner hadn't realised it needed replacing!! Used standard Husaberg parts and engine is all fine.
Anyway, coming from a 2006 FE 450 I still notice the 390 engine sound (tick, tick, tick) and...
Has anyone fitted the DJH Husaberg cam chain tensioner?
Just wondering how much thread you had left on the adjuster after installation?
Not much thread left showing on mine so I would presume my timing chain is pretty well stuffed already at 1800 klms.
Anyone done the timing chain yet and...
I found a spiffy blue anodized manual cam chain tensioner for the FE for about $45. Anyone using these in this bike? I am new to the FE, actually it is still in transit to my house. Planning the mods already.
My last bike was a DRZ400 - they had terrible tensioners that sometimes failed with...
My cam chain tensioner has been clattering off and on.
A couple of months ago I ordered and received the Dirt Tricks cam chain tensioner.
Today I noticed the tensioner was again clattering and I was thinking about replacing it.
So I was looking at the instructions and noticed nothing special...
Anyone have any ideas, as to reasons why?, my riding buddy has the KTM 400 (2009) :D the cam chain tensioner is an identical part to the 2010 Husaberg tensioner, he reckons. So he was warning to keep an eye out for it. The tensioner piston failed during a 4 hour ride. Symptoms were a knocking...
Is there anyone but me who has trouble with the hydraulic timing chain tensioner? It worked fine for a couple of hours but then it started to rattle at idle and low revs with the engine warmed up.Replaced it with a new tensioner but after only a couple of hours it´s the same story again.This...
i was doing a '04 650 yesterday and the camchain tension is completely used up! it's fully open. the chain, an IWIS is like new still. i suspect the chain has been rattling around. what i could do with is an old style tensioner with the blob on the end right now.....
i also checked and...
now here is a subject that we may not have touched on before!
just how much pressure is being put on the back of the tensioner blade?
sparks has chopped some off and feels sure that this is part of the problem in chain wear! so sparks and i talked of how it could be measured
remove...
Typical retarded velo-question: I know that eventually, even a pansy slow old guy like me will need to replace my cam chain. I keep checking for shavings in the oil (none yet at 190 hrs or so). Can I just check the cam chain tensioner somehow to get an idea of whether or not it's running out of...
Hi everyone,
Would anyone happen to know if you can use a 98/newer slider on a 96 600? I understand they moved to a two piece in 98 and they dont sell the old one piece anymore.
Thanks!!
Hi All,
Does any body know the free length of the cam chain tensioner spring.
I could have the right one but it seems rather long and when you eventually get it all in the tensioner housing there seem to be rather a lot of tension pushing against the tensioner blade.
Just thinking that in...
I have a fe 550e -04 which i have replaced cam chain on and when i checked the tensioner position after 2 hours of usage i found out that i only have one mm left on the tensioner.
I have checked the the timing chain tensioner (plastic and found only little wear and i checked timing chain...
Following everyone's advice, I ordered a new cam chain tensioner as well as a new tensioner arm.
The new tensioner is longer by about a millimeter, I wonder if it was really worth the purchase, but the new arm (or lever, however you want to call it) seems to be beefier, but does not seem to...
are they available for husabergs ?
the acct is constantly putting pressure on the cam chain , a simple back fire can cause the tensioner to extend .
the MCCT could be the solution to the stretch factor of the cam chain , as most of us know the rod of the acct can be fully extended in a...
