As the title says I am looking for a flywheel for my 02 650 engine but all the 01-03 sem flywheel are the same, maby some more will fit?

I've got an 02 FC550 with a duff stator, but also got an (apparently) good one from an FE550 (similar year). Do I NEED to change the flywheel too, or will it work as is? It fits in there ok- I'm guessing/hoping it will work, just have no charging circuit? Thanks.
