I have purchased some race tech fork springs for my 450 fe 2008 and note that they are longer than the wp springs. They are longer by the preload spacers and more. Have installed and seems ok, but was wondering why wp has preload spacers as standard. That is has wp impoved over stock wp? Any...

I got some 4.6 wt race tech springs to replace my standard springs on the 2008 berg. They are apparently the right springs for the bike. I notice that the race tech springs are 3cm longer than the standard WP springs. Has anyone else noticed this? This will clearly affect the preload.
