I am looking to ride in District 37 events and am being told that my bike must be able to pass an exhaust sound decibel test 96dB Max. Can anyone tell me how loud the stock exhaust system is and has anyone passed a sound check with a Big Gun muffler? Thanks! Evin 2002 FE650e

Hello again! I started fixing up the stock exhaust on my FE650 2003 and when I took apart my rattly muffler only the rear part has packing, is this right or should I pack the front end as well?

I spent some time looking for the Akraprovic slip-on muffler for the FS, that one with the carbon end cap, and was having difficulties until I saw somewhere that this muffler in fact is the exact same as a KTM 450-520 etc. That got me wondering if I could go out looking for a specific KTM model...

Hi, gang.... Anybody recall if the internal baffle in the rear of the OEM '98 fc501 muffler ( the one shaped like a tin banana!) is attached to the perf. core, or does it just become attached due to typical exhaust heat? I checked down through the Exhaust forum, but found no real applicable...

Guys, i have the older style Akro muffler for my bike and wanted to remove the baffle for closed course work. I took out the one little screw in the bottom and the baffle moves a bit then stops. I have grabbed it as gently as i can with pliers, but the sucker seems stuck. Is it a case of just...
