Allo all Just bought an 02 FS650, got it for a bargain price as the kickstart shaft is snapped. When I bought the bike he supplied me with a new kickstart shaft from a later model, part number 80033050000 which is fitted to the 04-06 bikes. Damn thing doesn't seem to fit!? The new part...

Hey groovers. Anyone know if I have to drop oil to replace the kickstart seal. I would think no? and probably is a silly question?

for those that haven't read the 'owners doc' you may not know that to get the kickstart to push from the top of the stroke makes a huge difference to starting a bike. indeed i once put the kickstart lever back on without pre-stressing the spring and the bike was all but impossible to start...
