What would happen if I put a ruined head gasket in. A guy in Arizona is making copper gaskets at .042 1.01mm The bike is 2000 Fe501. stock gasket is .056 or 1.4mm What are the pros.and cons

So i was riding down the hwy the other day on my 2004 fs 450 and blew up my head gasket just riding normal. Im good with engines, just havent really experimented with Husaberg engines. I was wondering how hard it would be, so i can save $400 from a mechanic doing it. Thanks

Guys, I've just replaced the head gasket on my bike and wanted to know if I need to retorque the head bolts after running? Final head bolt torque was 55nm splitting the differance between the manuals 50nm and Taffy's 60nm.... Are these monotorque gaskets or do I need to retorque after running...

i have some mechanical backround, and have rebuilt auto engines before, but i've heard that the 'bergs are very different animals and require alot of care when rebuilding. the bike sat for a year or so prior to me getting it, and the gaskets for the valve cover and the cases are weeping oil...

I whipped off the left crankcase cover of my '02 FX650e, to see if the starter gears were still there and damaged the gasket. The shop tells me a new gasket is 3 weeks away!. so is it possible to use a good sealant instead, leaving the gasket out altogether?
