I was interested if the husaberg community had any interest in the worldcup soccer that now is going on in Germany?
Since we have members from all over the world i'm just curious.
For example, the USA is also participating,so how are you guys watching the games?(if you are watching...)
Here in the Netherlands everyone is going nuts when our team plays a match. The whole nation is turning orange.

All the games are live on cable tv. The weekday games are on while I'm at work, but I do catch the friday, saturday, and sunday games. I don't have alot of faith in the USA getting very far, but I will be cheering on Germany all the way. The opening rounds are amusing, some beautiful play with some some play that appears to be no better than highschool play.

 They played pretty well but not my favorites for sure.
I am hoping for a Netherlands-Argentina final and make things right from the past(Final in 1978)
First play them on wednesday, but this match won't be that big a' deal because both teams are allready placed into the next round.

I started to watch France vs Korea and after 40 minutes I was still wondering why I was watching that and instead switched for the Churchill Cup (that's Rugby for you) and then caught some good ChampCar racing.

And when I came back to the world cup game both team had tied 1-1.

Looks like I did not miss anything...

Germany? Yay they have a shot at the cup.

I heard the Yanks got a well-deserved draw against the Italians, but of course nobody really cares!

That soccer thing is almost as boring as baseball to watch!

Im with you LeFrog... being a Brit doesnt mean you have to be a football hooligan, personally i'd rather turn off the tv and use my imagination at the blank screen, being a stout Yorkshireman Rugby League is my game, played all my life, this football business is rubbish... who wants to watch a game where grown men roll around on the floor crying for ten minutes cos someone stood on their toe???!!

Good one!!

I think this Worldcup is dominated by bad referee decicions.
We (the dutch team) are f@#ked by the Russian so called referee.
Also the Australian team was given a false penalty by the referee...
Well,**** happens,life goes on...

It was painful to watch the US play (again)... wish we just sent the Cleveland Browns over there instead. That would be worth watching... :)

HEY BLUTO....THATS A JOKE RIGHT ?
YOUR DEFENDER SHOULD BEEN EXPELLED FROM THE GAME RIGHT AT MINUTE 6 WHEN HE HIT LIKE HE DID CRISTIANO RONALDO...

EVERYBODY SAW THAT WAS A FAULT FOR A RED CARD...

OOOOOHHHH WELL, IN THE END YOU ARE RIGHT...IF THE REFEREE HAD SHOWNED THAT RED CARD RIGHT IN THE BEGIN , MAYBE YOU START TO PLAY FAIR AND NOT DIVING FOR A PENALTY, PLAYING WITH BOTH HANDS IN OUR AREA , HIT SIMÃO SABROSA WHEN HE WAS IN THE GROUND, ETC,ETC.

ENOUGH SAID....

Down here in Australia we (others!) have gone mad for it as well.
Thank god for aussie rules football and rugby union, at least the games are exciting and the crowds dont have to riot for a bit of entertainment after the game is finished .

I guess you are Portugese?
I don't want to start a mudfight here but Figo was also to blame for overacting. It's a shame with all the cameras and reruns they can shoot, they cannot make a good decision.
Let's finish this with the words of our goalkeeper:" We played better, they played smarter".

Hey,

Greetings from Portugal...
Holand has just gone.
Saturday we gona eat England.

I have a feeling Portugal can beat England and France can beat Brazil.

Now I see the problem at the homes of all the Portuguese living in France, with the kids rooting for France and the parents for the homeland.

Hey I may start watching some of these games.

That World Cup thing, it's weird, but the further it goes, the more you get interested...

I'll bet you're more of a soccer fan now than you were at the beginning of this thread eh, LeFrog?

Tuesday was the match of the tournament, even if the wrong team (in my opinion) won. Actually, I take nothing away from Italy, they played a brilliant game and made a great decision to move to 4 forwards in the last few minutes as a last ditch effort to win and avoid the PK roulete.
