Hello!! I have a husaberg fe650e 2001, that i have restored(engine) from the ground.
I am about to fit my new camchian, but i think it is a bit tight, even without tensioner mounted. I can move the chain 10mm from side to side without tensioner, is that normal?
If i tension the chain with the tensioner, it goes out 8/15 tooth. I have to push the piston inside the tensioner out with a screwdriver, not much power needed. It turns without problems! I hope you understand what i mean!

Thanks!!

/William

welcome to UHE wille

we have cam chains that you can twang like a bow (and arrow) so 10mm of movement isn't a problem. half the teeth used is usual.

Hi Wille,

I had the exact same problem with mine, when I fitted the so called Regina chain it was as tight as a bow string with out the tensioner or blade fitted.
Fitted a DID and then there was a small amount of free play before refitting the tensioner.

Hi sparks!
Well I have been told that I dont should use did chain, IWIS chain is better, and I want the best for my berg. The chain isnt so tight, 10mm as I wrote before.

Do someone know how thick the startercables are (mm2)? I have a 7ah battery, that i have moved to, behind the rear shockabsorber. Is it enough with 6mm2?

wille

i have some massive yamaha cables here that will do and i hold IWIS.

Massive cables? Which mm2? I have no original cables, so I dont know what it schould be. I have 6mm2 cable but is it enough? I could have calculated if it was enough, but I dont know the power of the startermotor.

/william

they come from yamaha R6s is that good enough for you!!!!!!

the thicker the cable the less power they absorb and the cooler they stay.

thicker gauge cable is better than thinner, as taff said it will carry the current much better (cooler) than thinner stuff. sorry but im not sure what mm2 the standard stuff is.

oh and welcome wille !

I think the standard is only 10mm cable i used 25mm multi strand to an from the contactor and the same for the earth cable as every one says the bigger the better i also moved my battery behind the shock you can have a look in my gallery pics if any of those help

Hello guys!
My berg is running well after the rebuild, but taht you already knew. My question now is witch camchain tensionblade i should upgrade to? I didnt change the blade that I got with the bike when i bought the bike. It isnt so worn, but I want to change it anyway. I have a new blade: the black banana blade, but the chain just touch the curve a little bit as shown in a picture in Taffys gallery. Logic tells me that I should have the straight thick blade but I dont know. I need the little steel pipe(bush) that the blade mounts on too. If someone could give me some info about this and article number I would be greatful!

Regards / William

I found the blade in owners doc. now, but is it the blade I should use? The 2005 blade? 820.36.002.000?
