i'm reallyreallyreally hoping the 450 is street legal, the 570 is probably too much for the ultra tight technical stuff i do at speed...
The 570 works for me. *shrug*

same reason they build a 450 and a 390, the 570 isn't for every condition...

What condition is the 570 no good for? All the new models weigh the same.
I rode a 2008 FE450 and I couldn't really tell the difference on tight trails between it and my 570, I even think the 570 may have been a little more controllable/docile down low.
I know which one I would rather be on when the going is smooth. Tyre smok'n 570 :D

I wouldn't swap the 570 for anything. Well, maybe Bushies thumpen 7hungie :D

I ride almost solely technical trails - tight technical trails, first and second gear technical trails.

Now I haven't ridden the 450 or the 390, but I have talked to some people who have ridden all three bikes and they say there are handling differences, *but* many preferred the 570 and don't feel it is a beast or at a big disadvantage on trails. The general consensus is that over a long day on the trails at a fast pace, the 390 is better because it handles a bit better and is less tiring.

Personally, I run my 570 on the 'soft' map with a 12 tooth sprocket and a low idle in combination with the Rekluse. For a street legal dirt bike I think it works very well. I suggest riding all three bikes on trails and then buying the one that you like the best.
