put it back together (don't forget the little bearing) and rotate the inner inside the outer. it should spin easily and quietly in one direction and not the other.

UPDATE

Finally got the time to test the bike again after I put it together.

And the noise is now gone (I also noticed it was easier to start with the button, but this might be because of warmer weather).
To be honest I don't know what I did to it either... Is it possible something was stuck before I opened the bike, and it magically loosened when I took it apart?

welp....

Tried to start it up and ride this evening. Bike started and I pulled the clutch lever and though it felt really hard, like when pulling the front brake lever. I put the bike into 1st and pop, it stalled.

Where can I have gone wrong when I assembled the bike? First thought was the clutch discs, but I though I should see if you had any thought first!

Thanks

i'm guessing you didn't get the last disk or cover in the right place. pull the inspection cover and have a look.

I pulled off the inspection cover and took all the disks out and put them in again, to be sure they were not stuck together. They were laying in the right order with a disk on the bottom, and a disk on top. But it did nothing to the problem..

Is it possible this could be fixed by bleeding the clutch system? Or might it be the clutch is out of balance?

The bike was laying down for almost a week before i put it together, if that is worth anything..

Thanks

Is the nut tight? If it's come loose you can push the last disc out of the cage, when you pull the clutch you use up all of the play.
