Bought a 2004 FE450E about 2 weeks ago. Haven't had a chance to ride it yet.

Went to pump the tyres up tonight as they seemed a bit flat. Looked at the front wheel, scratched my head. Rubbed my eyes. Looked at it sideways.

Thought I was imagining things.

Looked at the back wheel, scratched my head again. Rubbed my chin. Sighed.

Where the hell are the valve stems??? Both holes in the rim have a bit of tape over them.

Any ideas?

Possibly a tire mousse inside but you still would need air therefore needing valve stems. The guy may have not installed the innertubes.

More informed people will probably answering soon.

I would think that he bought the bike with Mousses. No need and valve or anything, just to go and ride.

RE: Re: RE: What the hell???

I was thinking Moose tubes.... it's just that both tyres feel very flat!

ditto for the mousses. but id pull the tyres off just to check the condition of the mousses.

if they look fine relube them and refit,

Yep, it had mousse tubes. They were stuffed. The rear had lumps from getting hot and cold and the front was falling apart.

Couldn't afford replacements so stuck in some heavy duty tubes.

You learn something everyday, if you're living right.

I'm glad I steered you right.

Have fun riding.
