On my 1994 FE 501 after replacing both sets of seals and seal housing on the cam shaft and both bearings when run for 10 minutes I have water pouring out of the weep hole.
Any idea of what else I can do to fix this?

Please help me!

Thanks

go to forums and then mechanical and search "water pump and weep hole and coolant" lots of info. my weep hole was leaking oil and now it's stopped after a few rides. i'm pretty sure you can change your waterpump seals (coolant side) by just removing water pump cover and impeller and fish out the seal.

Nick the seal on install??????? old hard seals??????? a bit of lube may help on the job .
Ya know it always goes smoother with a bit of grease

Frank Zappa said it best, "Keep it greasy and it'll go down easy".

Still leaking!

it could be you damaged the housing trying to get the seal out, also the seal on my 98 had been upgraded ,it was very difficult to press the seal in.I ruined my first set trying to get them in but got it right the second time.My old seals were rubber with a metal spring, the new ones are enclosed in a steel case, still have the spring around it.Check with Dan at motoxotica,he knows!

purchased a new housing and new seals,no damage on them,I have checked with Dan,and he has no other suggestions!

greased the seals up and pressed them in,they fitted in pretty good and with no damage, spring facing outside.

Sometimes the seals will wear a grove in the camshaft. If you can install them in a different area so they ride in a new spot this might help. After washing my bike I lube the camshaft thru the weep hole to prevent the exposed part of the shaft from rusting and causing more wear.I have gone so far as to grind the edge of the seal so they don't have to be pressed in so far. Although not on my Husabergs.

Where is this "weepy hole" of which you speak? I just rebuilt my motor ignorant of this problem and likely damaged this seal as I did pop it out and back in again. What do I look for, water in the case, or coolant on the ground?

On the Husaberg motor sorry the early motor it is on the cylinder head behind the water pump cover mounting surface. Later Jeff

So it is between the water pump housing and the case. So if this leaks, I should leak water into the case correct? I will end up with water in the oil?

no,the reason for the weep hole is to allow coolant to be release and not go into the motor. On my 98 600 there are 2 seals around the camshaft, one on the coolant side the other on the oil side .There is a small space between the 2 and that is where the weephole is located. There are 2 o-rings that also are involved in this mess .Those should be replaced also.

ahh ok thanks... Sounds like there are some differences between the 98 600 and the 02 650. I do not recall seeing this many seals on the monster. I will keep an eye on my fluid levels, I am a lot happier that the leak will not be into the case. Water on the ground is a lot less scary for me then water in teh case.
