Enginehardware could be the best person to comment on the durability on these double valve springs, they have been using them under race conditions for some considerable time with good results I think.

I think the FC450 comes standard with dual valve springs.
Kibblewhites have been making vlave springs and valves for quiet a number of years for high performance engines, so I think performance and durability is there main thing, and they are more cost effective the the OEM Husaberg springs.

hi, reliability is not an issue for the double springs set instead of the conical.
for 14 years my 1994 still runs the oem double springs set.

my question is regarding my 2008 fs650e and of course the nesecity to put double springs.
the fc450 has double springs but also has 4 titanium valves instead of steel the other models use. we all know how much lighter ti valves are.

so it makes a resonable sense that the fc450 double springs are softer than the conical.
so it would be a disaster fitting them to my 2008 fs650 i suppose..

any opinions on this please?
thanks

Hi there’s some shady character selling these double spring kits on Ebay :D
Can these be used on an 03 FS650 with an “08â€Â

i've asked the shady character and he says no! seriously though - i'm not sure and i'll explainwhy! the 650 got a new cam for 2003 but none of the others did. they say that the FS650 '000' cam is just the '08' rebadged but i'm not 100%. the '000' is ok but the '08' not 100%.

maybe someone else here can help?

this is from the doc:

OEM camshafts 820.36.010.000 and H-200.342.08 share identical profiles. The later unit is shipped with a matched auto de-comp lever. 1mm lift / 0 Lash / Straight Up

so i guess you should be ok. memory is going see.....!

The knibblewhite we use, that normally fits the KTM450SX, lasts for ever, in all these years we only had one failure and we suspect the outer spring material disorder, the valve was hold up by the inner spring so no damege.

Works fine for us, and we will not test anything else at this moment.

Started my 550 on saturday after changing the springs.

A few kicks and the engine runs fine (with the old fuel)

The engine is now really more quiet, the mechanical noise is reduced.

unfortuanally I can´t do a test ride, because we have a lot of snow yet.

@Taffy: I hope I´m right by using no of the two diifferent shims.
But I´m between your tolerance of the installed height without them.

Thanks!
