Using choke at cold start

Hi all.
I recently bought a 2012 FE570 with 30hrs and 1100km on it.
It just had a new fuel pump and everything works a treat 😁.
I didn't know it had a choke so I just hit the button after a prime and it starts fine and idles a little low until warm but no issues.
I found the choke yesterday and tried it but it didn't want to start??
Turn the choke off and it starts 🤷
Does this mean it doesn't require choke for the ambient temperature where I live or is there a problem??
Cheers Paul

It's not really a choke, like a hot start- it might work if it's REALLY cold, it just raises idle, but usually too much. When the knob is in, it's the idle adjust screw. Generally I just hit starter button quickly to prime fuel pump, then it starts next hit immediately, use throttle to hold high idle for a bit then all good. Remember these things were designed in Sweden- little bit different ambient to most of Oz!

Lol, I thought that might be the case. As you say, it starts fine, just idles a little low . Thanks for your reply 😁
