I am about to install the brandest, newest rockers available on my Berg, which should definitely be a plus and will allow me to ride with a certain amount of confidence that I will not explode yet another rocker.

I found that the intake rocker P/N 59036060144 is really smaller than the original part from 2001 or its first upgrades (7.6mm pin).

Is this normal?

I now guess it is but I freaked out a bit at first!

Also, one of the current arm, still a 2001 part, is a tad too big. By that I mean fractions of millimeter, enough to prevent the rocker to fit, but nothing I cannot carefully sand off.

Thanks for your comments

Hi LeFrog,

I believe you will find they are the later "splash fed" RFS/Husaberg ones (04- for the Berg).

You need the 03 "pressure fed" Husaberg ones(with 7.6mm pin). This was the year Husaberg changed the pin/roller but kept the arm the same

I put a pic in my gallery so you can see.

There are additional custom features in this Dr C rocker cover but you get the idea.

Putting AUSBERGs picture in here so you can compare side by side.

Yep, had the same problem when I ordered mine for my 2002 650, the doc says any rocker from a 2003+ bike will fit, so i ordered 2004 ones, wich don't fit! You need the 2003 rocker arms! I have told taffy at the time (couple of months ago) but it must've slipped his mind to change it in the doc.

Chris.

Thanks for the info... The fiche PDFs do not show what the new rocker head looks like from under. Indeed they are also rockers used by the KTMs. It is one of those internal redesigns made to accomodate KTM parts and lower costs. Great... except for me.

Does anybody know if the old fashion (long intake rocker) ones are still available?

Give Dan a call at Motoxotica, I bought a 03 501 intake rocker arm assembly from him some time ago...

I think he is out of parts due to the KTM takeover but I will eventually.

Sure is the best time to get into that type of issue.

Is the hole in the middle to lubricate the arms?

No, it is drilled for pressure oil feed. You will have to drill your own oil hole to match your original rocker.

this is the second subject (camchain is the other) in which i need to be sure of what i'm writing in the doc.

if anyone wants to explain it in chronological order i'll be happy to update the doc.

I supplied the rockers to Nic. I had bought them for spares a couple of years ago for my 02 FC550. I had got to information from a post somewhere on the site that these would be a direct replacement. It would be interesting to see if they would fit the 04 and up bikes.
These rockers are for the KTM RFS 450,520 and 525 motors. I have these part numbers listed in my gallery as a replacements for Husaberg OEM. I will have to ammend my gallery.

Ken, you can always post them on eBay and if you list the bikes that they fit, you should sell them fast.

I found on KTMTalk.com the list of all the KTM models these rockers fit.

Select OEM Part, enter the part number without dots. Then click on said part number when the part is found in the inventory, then click on "Search by Image". The list of all the models is then displayed.

Sorry it did not fit... I refit the former intake rocker because it was in good shape (the exhaust is the one that had a tired roller). I replaced one screw and two bolts.

2001/2002 are the rockers with the crap bearings

Part# intake: 200 281- 01
exhaust: 200 283-01

2003 same rocker as 2001/2002 but with the upgraded bearings (this is the one you want when upgrading your 2001/2002 rockers)

Part# intake 200 330-01
exhaust 200 331-02

2004+ good bearings but different style intake rocker

Part# intake 590.36.060.144
exhaust 590.36.061.144

Only checked for the 650 engine, the 400 engine has different rockers.

Thanks, Flemish friend.

Taffy, there you have it, you just need to copy and paste!

well that's what threw me because i have nored years agoi that there were rockers for the BV and rockers for the SV heads! so whilst i'm glad to upgrade the info for the larger engines i would like to work out what happened to the smaller rockers. i would guess that they died with the old 35/27 head...

:), oneremark tough, you state that the rocker arms from an 03+ model fit, this is not true, only the rocker arms from the 03 have the old style rocker arm body with the better bearing. On the 04+ rocker arms, the intake rocker arm body is shorter and doesn't fit.

it says that.

i guess it isn't clear so i'll look at making it flemtastic!

Hey Taff

Another section is a bit confusing.
In the doc it says" The factory modification was to increase each roller pin size from 7.6mm to 8.0mm for '03+ and this used a smaller diameter pin. "

Should be - The factory modification from '03+ was to increase each roller needle size. This also meant a smaller diameter pin had to be used, reduced from 8.0mm to 7.6mm." - or something similar.
