ok if JBS is too hard to get hold of maybe try adapting one of these generic mikuni suckers

Is this considered a good upgrade for all 2001-2008 bikes or only the 650 (and up) bikes?

Hi Elsnorro

until I have one of the mikuni pumps in my hands top measure up I have absolutely no idea.

just wanted to let people kow of the pumps existence, AFAIK it has been used by some in the KTM RFS but I think a small increase in prelaod on the relief spring of the pump in the pre 09 engines may be all that is needed to get some more flow/pressure.

Im looking at adding a piston squirter and pressure feeding the mains, perhaps also the clutch so more flow may be needed.

all just ideas, anyone is welcome to beat me to it

The piston squirter came out in 04, but not all 04's have it.

Interesting about the KTM oil pumps though.

yes I got a squirter, just thought if I run an oil gallery to the RHS main I might as well have 2 piston squirters

my logic is simply based on kangaroos and marsupial quolls having 2 ends on their dicks :twisted:

just to follow this up the pumps pictured above are only 10mm wide same as stock. the numbers partly refer to the rotors inside.

the 15mm wide one from the 2009 KTM atv is OILPUMP ROTOR 15MM G-164

just to note like Dr_C i have an older set of cases (mine are 02) with a piston squirter looks like it was drilled at the time of manufacture.

no jet, just a hole

Water pump has been done before alloy impeller and a bigger cover with spacer thing but I don't think it's worth doing

Water pump upgrade was a popular mod with the sidecar teams but mainly because the huge radiator was way over in the chair.
