Since allot of talk has gone on by myself and a few others about new users, old users, advise and ideas, what is the census and thoughts on the use of forums for all to give advise and share ideas?

IMO: Forums are for all users and to have the ability to share advise based on their knowledge, experience and expertise. Users should have the ability to give advise without any one user telling them that their opinion does not count and or does not work. Freedom of expression is and what has made our world a great place. What works for one does not express that it will work for all. Variation is where learning begins and future advancements are made. I for one like to express my findings and experiences and share with others for them to try and see if it can work for them.

What are others opinions on this subject if any?

That is why I'm here, but frankly I been fed up with all the **** flinged around lately by quite a few users.

I come here to read and learn from other husaberg owners, and to share whatever knowledge I have when someone need help. Not to read about some kind of "bullying crusade" or whatever.

Thus the reason I have spoke up :) I am told or have been that my information is not good enough and or to go lay under a bridge as I gave another user advice. Another user who was also giving advise did not like the advise I gave and pretty much told me to go away as they have been here for a long time and I was new to the site? I stood up and the **** started, I don't feel I should have to go hide under a bridge and or be told my advise does not count and their advise is the spoken word. A few others stood up as well and now it is taken as bullying. I really think the first issue of pushing a new user off was bullying and that is the real issue. Just my two cents. Don't know if you have followed from day one or just came across the crap?

I do however believe all opinions count and feel this site should make new users feel welcome when they get involved in discussions. I also think allot of others feel the same way, but who am I but a new user? :)

New user old user, shouldn't be a difference. We are all husaberg owners.

No, I haven't paid too much attention on who said what or who started whatever. It's of no interest to me. I skim through it looking for the on-topic information.

At the end of the day it's up to you how you react to emotional stupidity. It's all up to you if you prefer to hide under a bridge, go away or brush it off as it came from some unknown person with issues on internet :)

I personally normally go with the "unknown person" and move on. I might wonder what I did to attract that kind of attention and learn from it.

We must keep the topics pure. It's the truth.

I'm afraid we must therefore learn to ignore the bad stuff that happens from time to time, and somehow find ways to do that.

Edit - Well said, Jon.

In this sport, people come and people go. We all know that. People also change brands and they move on
It seems to me that to own and ride a berg you need a bit of tenacity and a thick skin. I think you also need a bit of these to be on this board.
This board is all about info. We have a number of people who have been around a very long time, done remarkable things with their bikes and gained a wealth of knowledge and share it with us.We are lucky to benefit from this. Calling the old dogs out or calling people or their ideas stupid .... You might get bit.
I teach in high school shop and deal with classes on a daily basis that are filled with kids who don't like each other or get along. At the end of the day, we get the job done together. There are all kinds of personalities in the world. What good is fighting going to do. Ignore it or move on.
I like the info here ...sort it out. Both corners of the ring have a wealth of knowledge.

all the things some of you are complaining about could be completely avoided if there was a reasonable standard of respectful language used by everyone

can't see it being enforced here But it should be as is the case on every other bike forum i visit.

that is if old and new dogs don't do swearing and abusing while discussing small technical details they generally don't get cranky enough to bite each other.

if an old member repeatedly tells new members to phuck off and leave the site over differences of opinion there will always be some kind of reaction, be it the new members retaliation, defense or a joker taking the piss out of the ludicrous hypocrisy of the situation.

worse than that is when the new member actually just leaves which happens a lot

those who don't like what happens currently as a result of the foul language and abuse being directed at people over a difference of opinion could do something diplomatic about the source of abusive language or consider taking their own benevolent advice to the abused members and simply ignore whatever content they don't like.
