Well its a bit like the picture off vegard but then whit bigger parts on it.

But I will keep riding it and change oil every hour to see if it gets less or worse.

Maybe there will come a big bang and everything stops but hope not.

I lett you now what happens.

Have you checked the condition of your cam chain, if it gets to slack it shaves aluninium flakes from the rocker box lid.
When I pulled my engine apart it showed signs of this from an earlier chain.

Regards

Sparks.

If you've got that much steel coming out then somethings gotta be wrong.
It's normal for 1 or 2 fine particles if you've been bashin the gears around but anything like vegards photo then somethings gonna break if its not already broke.
You don't want this...it costs a lot.

Maybe we should have some kind of prize for the most metal on the drain bolt.

Hi Neil,

I think we can categorically say that something has expired internally.

If you've gathered enough metal to send to a dealer then I'd be worried 8O

It didn't take to long before something did go wrong.
Yesterday my engine stalled, try to kickstart but the compression was so much there was no movement.
Today I split the crankcase hmmm nothing to see at first site.
Then i removed the crank and you may guess one time, Yes good answer the left main bearing and two other bearing totally busted.
I had so much luck because it happend while iddling and not a full throttle.
I will look at other topics now to see what sort off bearing I must use and how to solve this problem.

Well I read most off the bearing topics but i'm a bit confused now whit all the information.
The crankcase bearing fitted in my 550 engine is a skf nj206ec/vc025 has anyone got a number for me from another brand bearing whit the same dimensions and stronger.
The next question does somebody now the product number off the two bearing in the counterbalance weight?

On the rightside off the crank in front off the bearing theres a "spacer mounted" but i cant find it the spareparts book its not really a spacer because its pressing against the sealingring. Anybody now the use of this?

the really long thread discusses this and you have several ways to go here.

a ball race will last longer without the present troubles but it has a shorter wear life. also orangeberg reports that it's a ***** to get in and out full stop.
the next best way is to get the 13-roller roller bearing. http://www.husaberg.org/index.php?set_a ... _photo.php the NTN206 is recommended by several people. a TN9 is recommended by swedishsteel as it has a composite cage and will crumble without further damage if all starts to go south in your new engine.

the C/B bearings are apparently VERY expensive!!!!!!! check them out. ausberg has found that they are infact two standard bearings machined down!!!!!!!!!! so you are actually paying for husaberg (or ? ) to grind the 4 sides of the two bearings..... so say no more!

anyone remember a link to ausbergs pics and 'chat'on this?

check out his gallery to get to the bottom of this.

i'm unaware of the 'spacer'. someone else help husa?

i'll try and remember bearing numbers next time we talk!

BTW now and know are different and with is what you were looking for!

i'm trying to help mate but you've got to remember that until we know how it happens and why it happens we don't have a definitive answer!

all the best

IS it normal even on 05 + models to see a very small amount of metal on the magnet during an oil change? I guess compared to the above pic I have about 1% of metal on my plug!

normal for a small amount ... if it has done a lot of hours i would inspect and replace as required or your drain bolt could resemble that ugly one !
