Stolen Thursday 17th February about 2:00pm by Tuneboy! How good is that? :greenjumpers:

Think he is stripping it now, at least the EFI ECU anyway

Good stuff, how long before you get it back???

P.s That title got me. I thought FAAARRRKKKK.

Hey Easyrider I tried to add a little humor with the post, not sure if that worked :?
Not sure when my 570 is coming back home but I think Tuneboy has hacked into the ECU already, so things are looking good for anyone wanting to look or alter the EFI in a Husaberg. Will post more info hopefully when I get a Tuneboy Cable.
It's too hot to ride here so I'm not in a hurry for the bike. I near melted mowing the lawns on the weekend it's so hot. :)
I have ordered a new Exhaust Manifold and will weld on a 18mm x 1.5 bung for an O2 Sensor to check Air Fuel Ratios.

Yeh mate the humor worked after I read the story but at first I thought, oh no you've lost your bike.

Seems to be the way on this site at the moment, did you see ygrowup's post "need help with a serious problem" he got me too. I nearly needed a new pc after reading that.

Keep us posted with your results.

Yes I stole ygrowup's joke and told it to my mates down the club last week. Cracked me up too when I read that, still chuckling as I type this. Hairline Crack in the engine mount

Look forward to posting anything I learn re the ECU.

nice one Davo, awesome news :) Will it still need a burn in ?
LMAO berglsmerg
I asked Tuneboy about the burn in and how it changes idle too, and it stumped him especially when I told him the Throttle Body is dumb and only has an idle screw (Not an idle up solenoid). Given he hadn't seen the keihin Husaberg ECU before, I am sure he will work it out in time.
Your post reminds me! I forgot to tell him not to let my FE570 idle for longer than 5 minutes

Check Ya's
Davo.

Hay davo
thats good news he is starting to have a play with the ecu cant wait to hear the feedback and results of what we can do to tweak these bergs awesome stuff.
cheers aquajett

well carrrrn and giz. Info ? update ? c'mon Davo time to stop looking for the burn in section.

Hoi Berglsmerg, been too busy and so has Tuneboy. I even did a 616Km Adventure ride along Fire Trails on my Pusaberg not long back. We rode from Sydney to Kelso just outside of Bathurst. I should have kept heading into Bathurst and taken the 570 for a spin down Conrod Straight. After reading so many bad posts on here I brought a tool kit and took as many tools, wire, zip ties, and tape as I could. My Pusaberg never missed a beat. Tools came in handy for a WR250 that lost a bolt and a Husqvarna that lost the Stand Spring. I truly understood the meaning of Husabutt after that ride. Cramps in my arms got me bad too, but a mate had some magnesium tablets that fixed me up. The first beer at Kelso pub didn't touch the sides when I got there, didn't even get out of my bike gear/armor/boots before going straight to the bar when I got there, it was a long day. Even longer ride home the next day after a few too many Bourbons.

I have a new Header Pipe and Stainless 18mm Bungs for mounting O2 Sensor for Tuneboys Dyno. Will post some pictures tomorrow.
I think it will be about another 3 more months before I get on Tuneboys Dyno as he is busy on another ECU hacking project.
He has big plans for the Husaberg ECU, including WiFi connectivity.
Tuneboy could not see the Burn-in part in the ECU, and took a guess that the KTM Factory tell the dealers to do the burn-in so that the Dealers just follow the one single process for all EFI bikes. Meaning the KTM's with fancy stepper motors and idle up solenoids in the Throttle Bodies need the burn-in. Made sense to me, but it was only his guess not guaranteed 100% correct.

The day after:
Having too much fun on my Pusaberg lately:
A rose among 3 thorns:

I ordered the following parts for setting up an Oxygen Sensor in the Exhaust Header Pipe ready for Tuneboys Dyno:
New Exhaust Header pipe - 81705007100
Graphite Ring - 58405005001
Header Gasket - 78036041000
1 x 45 Degree weld on Stainless Steel 18mm O2 Bung and a Straight weld on Stainless Steel 18mm 02 Bung. Not sure which one I will use yet.
1 x 18mm Bolt to plug the hole when I have finished tuning.

Will update post again in a few months

So does this mean that we are going to be able to map the stock ECU fuel and ignition tables soon?

No need for aftermarket piggyback units like Power commander and such?

That is the plan, but not soon. I think it will be a few months.
Fully adjust any part of the Map.
Just change 1 Map if you like. Maybe just the Agressive Map as an Example.
Swap Maps with your mate.
Should be able to use Kheihin ECU from a KTM 250 or a Kawasaki too and load your Map.
I think there will be some real neat Logging too, with the addition of some parts.

Keep the same ECU. The best part about that is Husaberg have got it spot on for hot starting and cold starting and the engine is pretty smooth as it is. So you just need to tweak the bits in the Map that you need to change.
Like Timing, rev limit, different Fuel settings if you install a different Camshaft, Exhaust, Throttle Body.
Buy a Map off a specialist that has been Dyno proven.
There will be a piggyback module for O2 Sensor Logging, Engine Sensor Logging, and WiFi connectivity. Not sure where it is gunna fit on the bike.
I am guessing you will be able to see the standard Logging option in the existing ECU too.

Hopefully all will be clear in a few months. It all should be here now but it's prime riding time here in Sydney

Tuneboy takes Hacking to another level, here is a picture of a spare ECU he has

I like if this would allow a rider to switch maps with the mapping switch??

I have been told that the mapping switch does not switch to a different EFI map, but rather a different ignition map where the timing is retarded (soft) or advanced (agressive), but the fueling stays the same?

What I would want would be if I could have one special map for "fire breathing dragon" mode where I have fitted my seat with the whole in it above the air intake and a more open exhaust. This would be for those times I would have the SM wheels and gearing fitted.

I would maybe like a similar map setup for when I have the snow bike kit fitted, but setup for 4k+ feet elevations where the deep snow is.

Then the standard map and 'soft' ignition mapping for when I have a trail seat and quiet map and dirt tires/wheels fitted.

IMO my 570 has more than enough power stock for the technical trails I ride and the way I ride. It is when I am on the street or the snow that I want/need all the power I can get.

It would be neat to have a bike that could do all these things power wise with a flip of the switch. Of course, in practice, it would probably be okay if I could do it by sitting down to my computer at home and switching the map. After all, the riding I would do where I need to switch also requires that I swap wheels or hook up the snowbike kit too - it isn't like I would be doing it on the fly.

I come from GSX-R's and this is all familiar to me. I built my own cable that connected to ECU and other end has TTL-232R chip built in usb connector that goes in laptop. Can tweak stock ECU allmost like a full bred MOTEC (gear based fuel and ignition mapping, boost enrichment, rev limiter changes, top speed limiter etc.). :D

Would love to have same possibilities on berg without any aftermarket crap installed on.

So any news? I almost bought a berg user tool, but I remembered this so I said I need to think about it.

I'm building the motor in winter and need good mapping tool when I get it on dyno.

Hahaha that thing looks pos. No computer interface with atleast tps/rpm based mapping? Forget it.

Atleast the berg tool has pretty good looking software when I installed it on computer, and has datalogging and other ecu settings also available. But it's so damn expensive.

Getting closer. Tuneboy has been busy overseas, I have been busy at work or riding or water skiing. Next couple of months for sure.

Tending to goats and what not, you say a few more months every time
