I have 2011 570FS with 7000 plus miles on it. I let it sit for about 2 1/2 mouths started it and it smoked a lot thought S@#T left it for the morning. Started it no smoke rode the next day and again no smoke? Any thoughts.

White smoke? Maybe you washed it last thing you did or air humidity or rain collected some water in the muffler or something? Then it got warm when you started it and it dried up.

Black smoke...?

White smoke but it went on for about a minute and half just enough to make me worry. But again no problem since.

Cockroach down the pipe getting fried ?
I seen Cheech and Chong movie on TV of late with Cheech smoking a Roach, it made a lot of smoke, so it could be just that man ;)

Or it's some one has done the old squirt a bit of oil down the pipe trick on you.

could be that the piston has worn out? this time it smoked for a minute. next time it might be for longer?

Taffy

Thanks for the great news Taffy. Guess I’ll find out sooner or later. Hopefully later much later.

They wear the piston under ring at fron if piston gets too bad they roll and grab and pulls the crank with the piston and it’s all she wrote.

Talk to a KTM Husqvarna Husaberg Mechanic. Told it could of been to much oil in the crank. Will be checking soon.

The Mechanic Tom at Moore & Sons was right. It was oil in the air box. I added to much to the lower end stupid Me did not think it was that important live and learn. It was up to the brim of the breather tube. Saving money so I can spend it on a more needy bike My FE550.
