I'm in the midst of servicing the heim bearings. I've yet to remove either the upper or lower bearing but... The upper collars cam out with a few taps. The upper bearing is clean and moves freely by hand. I had to kidnap a rabid gorilla and give him a sledge hammer in order to get the lower collars off. The lower bearing does not move so freely. Sooo, the problem is I don't know if the one that move easy if ok / or bad and likewise for the lower. I need new collars for the lower 'cause they got phucked up when they were removed. I figure I'll at least replace the lower and depending on advice given replace 'em both.

Thanks in advance. :?

you'll get through two lowers to one upper. they lock solid with crud as a bearing BUT they also knock because they're loose. you should have wobbled the SA up 'n down and had a hand on the top of the shock and frame feeling for vertical movement.

just do the lower this time and get the new shoulders as you say.

regards

Taffy
