thanks
Hi, i just read through all the replies, thanks for helping guys!!!
The last two weeks were very difficult (work work... work... blabla...) and because my work is computer related i really wanted to stay away from my pc when i got back home
Regarding suspension, the bike was setup for a guy that does professional racing (he's a top enduro racer) so i guess it should work for me (we weigh about the same)
So far i got about 15-20 hours on the bike, i had 3 spills one from following a (much) faster guy, and suddenly realizing that the trail ahead was disappearing only to reappear about 2,5 meters lower (i visioned me landing on my nose with the berg between my legs) so i opted for a bush about 45 degrees to my right... now that i think of it it wasn't a good idea, i didn't had time to check if it had thorns or anything, thankfully i was lucky .............. (the guy referred to the chasm as 'a minor slide with lots of grip' -- i would describe it as a free fall to ER...)
The other two drops i had were from the same reason: me falling after the 'apex' of the turn because i was turning the handlebars on the opposite direction of the turn (to use the gyroscopic effect - obviously this doesn't work in the same way as in street bikes), sitting on the rear with my head near the inner grip, my body (torso/ass/everything) hanging on the inside and my general body posture was wrong (or so i was told) so i lost the front end.... all this is caused by using track (as in streetbikes not mx track ) riding techniques, i really need to get these habits off my mind...
Some guys i met told me a few tips (eg : to sit almost on the tank (as if the husaberg wasn't already inconvenient)) so i'm trying to improve my body positioning now....
One thing that i've performed miserably almost all the times was jumps, either the rear end of the bike would try to send me over the handlebars or i would loose the bike from beneath my legs, landing with my feet outside the pegs etc (even when i was trying to 'hold' on to the bike with my knees/boots it was slipping away... maybe some grip tape (something street riders use on the tank of a motorcycle so gripping with thighs is better) would be a good thing ??...
I'll try to post some videos etc on youtube when i get my motorcycle camera back (lend it to a friend who is racing, so he can later see mistakes etc), so far it's 10 times the fan my streetbike has (i haven't laughed so much for years), reminds me of when i was about 15 getting acquainted with two wheelers, learning how to wheelie and falling every day on my ass laughing about it....
imagine something like this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbHIxXiFAyA only this guy is about 10 times better than me
another video i found while searching for enduro training : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxwNRg9yVL8
