Hi
I notice some play in the bottom rear shock absorber fastening. My guess is that the bottom bearing is shot. I have removed the bottom bolt inside the swing arm and the top bolt. The bottom end of the shock is somewhat stuck in the swingarm. So my question is

Is there something else that I have to remove in addition to the single bolt inside the swing arm to remove the shock?

thanks in advance

no, just the bolt. you will have to help it from the bottom. I call it "deal after agreement with a hammer".

I put the bike on a centre stand

take the bottom bolt out

push the swingarm down with my foot

then take the top bolt out.

there is a floating bushing inside the swingarm on the rhs that makes things difficult so you can put a block of steel in place of the shock absorber and use a drift through the bolt hole on the lhs to move the bushing out a bit. this makes it easier to put the shock back in

I remember a while ago somebody posted a youtube video of a guy removing a shock from a late berg in a minute or something? It's worth looking up, the guys face at the end is priceless! Not really advice, but if you get a laugh i still chalk it up as helpful!
