Hi there, a failry minor enquiry but I put my brake lever back on after fiddling around and now it sticks when depressed. The sping is in correctly but I wondered if there is a spacer I'm missing. From the back of the bike lokking from left to right there is the nut, colar, spring, spacer, lever (with bearing), aluminium cap then the allen bolt. Is there something missing or has anyone else had a similar problem. It is a fe450E 03' model.

Cheeres in advance.

I believe there is a thin washer between the brg and the frame tab, this should space the lever from the frame enough for the lever to clear as it travels

I have sufficient clearence but when the nut is nipped up it seems to trap the brake pedal. The brake will still move up and down but when a lot of force is applied, it sticks. It frees up again if the nut is loosened. Hmmmmm....!

I ran into this a while back when I was greasing and servicing my bike. What I found out is the back nut is a locking nut so you don`t have to tighten it down that much. Just back it off till you get full motion with no sticking and you will be alright.
Hope this helps

You might have left out a washer, take a look at page 23 of the 03 parts manual.

There are 2 of item 26 used.

Regards,

Joe
