Haha yeah I just kept answering NO when installing it!
Thanks. Yes it's a 650 2003. I've got a 2005 650 now too I bought cheap initially as a parts bike, but it was repairable so I'm just finishing building that motor and I'll run that in the Supermoto meetings. I want to show the RMZ riders what a mans bike is
I'll refit my dirt wheels to the 2003 and use it in the bush again too now. I'm lucky where I live, I virtually back on to thousands and thousands of acres of state forest and the NSW Supermoto club track is a very short drive too. I'm pretty lucky in that way. I'll post a few more pics in the 'Sexaberg' post when I get it all finished. Just had some new Pirelli slicks fitted so really keen to get to the next meeting!
Did you end up keeping your Berg?

No man, I just couldn't find it in myself to throw more money at it [emoji849]
And you know what, I think deep down I do feel like I'm missing out on a good thing. I feel the enthusiasm and love that all the members on this forum have for their bikes and I know that Husaberg made some truly outstanding motorcycles. I'm sure it's kind of like how I felt about the 1974 CZ 400 I had back when I still rode dirt and I had just started competing in AMA Motocross. I ruptured a disc in my back at the ripe age of 24 and had to give up riding dirt, but I too had access to the Sierra Nevada mountains as my parents own a cabin at Pinecrest California, and I grew up in the hills around Los Gatos where I could ride right out of my backyard and be on the trails. Man, those were the days and good times!
But I still love to ride, now I just tear-up pavement in the canyons near where I now live. I'm an adrenalin junkie and I can't get enough, even after dumping the Aprilia Tuono I had and totaling it, since I could walk again after about a week of being so sore I could hardly move lol! So the black and blue went away and I bought an even faster bike even though my wife was ready to divorce me over it.
The engine went to Polska. So I am glad to see he is very enthused about building a super 700 out of it... Another adrenalin junkie obviously lol!
Right now I have the rolling frame on sale on Craigslist. I have an interested guy in Florida and he wants to find an engine for it [emoji849]
If that doesn't work out to sell everything together I will piece it here on the forum.
I do want to say that the 650 was THE most awesome bike in turns I've ever riden. I still can't believe how fast you can stuff it into a turn and not lose it, and I was just starting to get a feel for what it could do when the engine seized. That was SO disappointing. But I sometimes think things happen for a reason. If I had kept that bike as in re-building it, it probably would have been my death. Because I would find out where the edge is on a machine like that. My BMW I don't want to go down on it. But the 650 I would have it would just be a matter of when. That was another deciding factor. A race bike would get raced.
BTW, your YouTube of racing SM was f-in' awesome! That's got to be a kick!
