the 8 is the std heat range the r is resistor the plug would be a ngk
put a 9 in it and it should appear darker in colour than the 8 after the same ride a 7 is probaly to hot if any of the plugs go sugary white get them out and go colder (ngk higher number) I try to run the hottest plug possible, burns any oil away and less chance of fowling . If the egines really good the std plug should be ok unless being thrashed then for safety the 9 is good but possibly could fowl on slower tracks
in comparison 125mx bikes run a 10 mx 85 s run a ten farm bikes two stroke run a 6 following the cows in or cuising the paddocks when a 8 would be the std plug , four stroke farm bikes run 7 to 9 which would be ther std plugs
