Planning a 570 rebuild

Yes the price seems very reasonable if I do currencey calculations that's only 300€ wich is cheaper than a stock rod kit over here!.
But I'm affraid after import taxes/currency taxes/shipping cost I would pay approx 450€ for the rod sucks to live in belgium to get cheap parts:rolleyes:
I will contact belgium importer soon curious how much they will say it is...

Finally ordered the gaskets! ... had some problems with the Cometic site, it seems like it didn't work with my non-US credit card? Although it's supposed to work with some billing address magic that the card company does. Sort of by accident I googled the gasket part number "C3244-EST" and found a couple of hits on Amazon by chance ... got the complete top end kit for $48.12 shipped! It's $61.31 excluding shipping on Cometic's shopengineparts.com site. The full kit includes head, base, exhaust gaskets, valve stem seals, cam chain tensioner O-ring and crush seal, and rocker arm O-ring. Nice!

Comes from Amazon shop "ehgoods" which are these guys afaik: ILion Parts Store

Score !

I already had a reply form belgium importer with price and what they need from me.
It would be 454€
And have to supply them with a lot of details of my bike and specs/dimensions of the stock rod (they send 2 forms in attachment) .
If I look at the parts from ktm the rod comes as a kit with bearing inside ready to go on the crank I guess if I order carillo you have to look for a bearing also for inside the rod???
Than its over 150€ more expensive can't wait to long to decide either because of the long delivery times I will think about it in the coming weeks :)

If I remember correctly, then CP Carillo already have the measurement of the rod? At least the measurements have already been figured out - Bushmechanic's the one to talk to there!

You could also look into ordering from an US distributor and use Shipito.com to ship to Belgium (another excellent tip from the master of bushes) ... You might find a CP Carillo distributor that knows Husabergs for instance, and even get the whole thing cheaper.

Re. the failure and oil circulation etc - IF mine has failed, I still haven't gotten up off my sad depressed arse to check but getting really close though - anyway, if mine has failed, I'm pretty sure it was just bad and OLD oil. It was sitting for 1.5 years before I bought it and I'm an IDIOT and didn't change the oil immediately.

It would truly!

What gear would I need for that reading? It's easy to imagine roughly how it'd work but I lack the knowledge to find what it's called :) And roughly where it's hooked up?

you could probably tap into the oil filter cover, bergsmlerg will know

then just use an automotive oil pressure guage

I always fit one on a new engine startup just to make sure.

Cam chain adjuster, the small bolt, use a banjo style fitting or one of the rocker galleries in the head. (small torx plugs )

Or you could tap the oil filter cover as well and by measuring and comparing the two, you can judge how much the bottom end uses.
