I have heard of some photos that were taken of a 650 07 at the condobolin 750 nav rally over the easter w/end 2007, the pictures show a rider no 55 with the tank and seat off and oil all over the bike and somebody added some comments bagging out the new Bergs.
To set the record straight he was a rider from my team who unknown to me modified the breathers from the engine with a pretty ordinary feat of engineering.A quick patch up job and a penalty for being a few minutes late for the next control and he was back in business. That night back at parc ferme i made him go home and get the original manifold (he lives in condo) i fitted our modifications to it and all was good.
Unfortunately on day 2 whilst pushing hard trying to make up time in the dust Thomas dropped a front wheel into a culvert cartwheeling over the bars smashing his nav gear off and severing a front brake hose. He decided to call it quits for the weekend with some damaged pride but the bike was still going fine.
He was on the podium in 2006 3rd KTM 525 and is already talking about doing the 08 event on a HUSABERG to restore the pride lost. He loves the bike.
The pictures probably originated from team GHR Honda or Yamaha who were pitted close by, his 2 brother inlaws are actually the main riders of the Yamaha team one of who went on to win the event outright. Maybe its a family payback thing as he was leading both of them at the time of the incident.
does anyone know where i can view the pictures
