oil change time

HELLO,

I just bought a used 1997 FE400 and it's time to do some tuning. I have an owners manual but it doesn't give much detail on maintenance and repairs. For instance I'm not sure how to disconnect the clutch cable to get at the oil filter. I'm not sure how to check the oil level either. Not that user friendly. Anyone know where i can get a shop manual or service manual for this older bike?

I just pull the clutch cable by hand away from the crankcase lug, and then romove the nipple from the lever. Takes 10 seconds or so. There is no need for the lock nut on the cable end, and it doesn't fit squarely anyway.

Oil level is set at the bottom of the threads of the filler cap.
