OK, It's been awhile. Built a new garage for all the bikes and NOW, my 15 year old and I are tackling the Huser. It's a 1997?FE350. Everything is there like I mentioned before. I got a few replacem, ent carbs to build one good one. BUT, NO SPARK! Noithing.
We have kicked this thing over and I have nothing but bad shins for it.
I have read about putting in a new stator. Is there anything I can do to test out the stator in this bike? Where can I get one of those holders for the flywheel to get it off or id there an alternative method?
Last but not least, where is the best place to get a new stator and maybe coil in the states? Thanks for any information. The bike needs to get ridden. Soon.

There were no 350's made in 1997, 400's yes. You can order a new stator from a dealer but sending yours to Sparks at U.K. Motoplat for rewinding is a much better option. Download a copy of the factory repair manual, 1998, from this site or Husaberg.com.
Get your vin # handy and check the year of your bike in the owners doc located to the left in the "Main menu". Order a flywheel puller from your dealer or aftermarket parts supplier. An air ratchet will spin the flywheel nut right off or put it in 4th gear and have a helper hold the back brake lever down while you use a socket with a long handled ratchet to remove the nut. The threads on the flywheel are left handed so to loosen turn the nut clockwise.

hi steve

as eric says, we have a '98 manual to download here and husaberg's site is at husaberg.se ok? secondly, call dan at motoxotica, he has stators rewound by sparks on the shelf ready to p/ex. and while you're there get one of those flywheel pulling tools!

Taffy

Have you completely disconnected the orange kill wire from the CDI before you checked for spark? If it has been out of action awhile you might be lucky and just have something funkey in one of the kill switches?

Hi Steve,

I an shipping some SEM stators back over to Motoxotica today so they should be with Dan in around 10 days.

Have you taken any resistance readings from the stator? a good one should read
Black Red 1750
Black Green 23 Ohms al + - 10%.

Regards

Sparks.
