I forgot to ask: how do I remove that kick leg...only way I can imagine is to remove also the upper leg and maybe, after that, it's coming all the way out (not only half way...) - maybe it has a clip/spring or whatever...
Thanks

One more thing - isn't normal to split the chain to take out the cam....strange way and I can say old, very old way...I remember an old Suzi like this.
Or maybe I'm wrong?!

I thought I had to split the chain also. The new one went out very tight, almost no freeplay in it.
What do you mean with kickleg?
Bearings can be bought at your local bearing dealer as it is a standard size. Just as long as you have a good brand and c3 type, it should be ok. There are some different opinions on whether they should be open or sealed. I have the open types.
I don't know why they brake, maybe the retainer was of poor quality and split. I am on the 50-60 hours now and wonder if it might happen again or just a bad bearing quality.
Regards.

I was asking about kickstarter - it's coming only half way...in repair manual they wrote only that you'll have to take it out...?

I have to tell you guys how lucky I am....all the balls are up there (7 balls!) but the balls retainer is gone....that's way in last oil change I saw bunch of metal flakes (when I saw that I did two engine flushes...)
So keep in mind when you'll see metal...take the valve cover out and take a look!

Can you tell what made the bearing fail?
Are the races torn up or discolored?
Did the housing break from stress?

I really don't know...
Everything else is just fine
I found only 2 balls outside and the ball retainer messed up - maybe the ball retainer is defective...funny is that the cam/lobe kept the balls there (between bearing and cam lobe)
