also, gearing down isn't what you were asking us is it?

in football parlance we would call that moving the goal posts!

whatever you do, don't chnage the downpipes to larger i/d etc. they are what give you the torque. i'm not even certain that your big gun exhasut adds low to middle if anything at all!

you want the bast bang per buck and i would guess you want to do some of the work yourself.

Gearing down was not the issue. It was more about getting a little more low to mid torque for a real tight woods track but still being able to keep my top end speed.

I think the first thing I will try is put the Big Gun exhaust on and rejet.

the last mod that's dead easy is the MX pipe

Do you mean a stock MX pipe from an FC model or an aftermarket one?

secondly, i think that you'd be better letting dale modify your dell orto than going to bore and stroke work. apparently his work to the carb is very good and has been recommended here.

What mods are done to the delorto?

the work that dale does is as secret as he can keep it and i don't blame him. wanna do it with some of my advice? try the settings on my info sheet.

the big gun i can't help you with, i've no idea whether it improves the bike or just makes a racket like 90% of pipes.

anyway, if you gear it down YOU WILL LOSE TOP END.

someone tell us newby's standard cam for '99?

Stock cam is a 53 Taffy.

That must be some type of English humor :? I am new to bergs but have had bikes for about 27 years or so. The Newby name came about before I noticed the word newbie above new members, guess I should change that huh?

I didn't really want to know the exact detail of every little thing he does, but was trying to get a general idea of of what can be done to make it so much better.
